With the first cases in metro Detroit having been reported on Tuesday, the effects of the coronavirus are being felt more and more by the Groves community with each passing day. Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency on Tuesday night after two cases were reported in the state, one in Oakland county and one in Wayne county. In response to the outbreak, Birmingham Public Schools announced last night that schools will be closed on Monday so staff can prepare in case of a prolonged closure.
