French Fry Frenzy

Looking for a bang for your buck, when it comes to french fries? Then you've come to the right place. I'm going to give you personal ratings based off the quality, quantity, price, taste, and the texture of the fries I've experienced.

  • Wendy’s

How much? S, $1.69, M,$1.99, L$,2.19

Almost not enough salt applied to the fries, although the potatoes are freshly cut according to Wendy’s. I would give it 6 out of 10. The dining area was actually well kept considering it was a chain restaurant, and the booth I sat in was practically spotless. Trust me, I looked...

  • Mcdonalds

How much? S,$1.39, M,$1.79, L,$1.89

Great taste overall, but the fries leave your stomach feeling upset, as if you ate something you should not have. Personally, I would give it a 4 out of 10.

  • Burger King

How much? S,$1.79, M, $2.19, L, $2.39

Quality of potatoes isn’t incredible, and leaves a bad aftertaste, but good amount of salt is applied. I give it a 3 out of 10.

  • The Maple Theater

How much? The french fries served here cost $5.00

The crinkle fries served here are wonderful, with the perfect amount of salt. However, not a large quantity of fries are given. I would give it a 8 out of 10, considering the ambiance of this place. It's quite cozy, and they have a large fireplace sitting slap dead in the center of the dinning area, not to mention they have card games at your disposal. It truly is your home away from home.

  • Bagger Dave's

How much? The french fries served here cost $3.50

Kind of bland. The quality of potatoes is perfect, and they also have a large variety of sauce choices, so I guess that makes up for the bland fries. Almost tasted as if they didn't apply salt. I would give it a 7 out of 10.

  • White Castle

How much? S, $1.59, M, $1.89, L, $2.69

The avionce is like any other chain restaurant in the middle of lunch time - utterly full, with people in a rush to get in and out. The wait time wasn't too bad, even though all I ordered was fries. And the eating area was in desperate need of attention. Now, the fries were really soggy and soft crinkle fries. They applied a good amount of salt, but the quality of potatoes tasted as if they were frozen. I think it deserves a 3 out of 10.

  • Leo’s Coney Island

How much? The french fries served here cost $2.49

Extremely bland, with no salt previously applied. The potatoes are not high quality because of the bland flavor. The fries are also too stale to add salt. Personal rating; 4 out of 10.

  • The Sidecar

How much? The french fries served here cost $3.00

Overall great fries! They have two different kinds of fries. One was cooked in duck fat oil with cayenne pepper sprinkled over it, and the plain fries are cooked in regular cooking oil with salt sprinkled over it. I would give it an overall score of 10 out of 10, because the quality of fries are amazing. They also aren't too skimpy with serving size.

  • Popeyes

How much? Reg, $1.79, L, $3.99

The fries are really good for a fast food restaurant. They’re pre-seasoned and ready to eat. The quality is still undetermined because the season over powers the quality of the potatoes, which is why I give them a 6 out of 10. But they are definitely the go-to fast food place when it comes to fries.

  • Mandaloun Bistro

How much? The Phoenician fries served here cost $10.00

The Mandaloun Bistro served Phoenician fries. I believe you need an acquired taste to enjoy this expensive plate. I was a little dissatisfied when I had this utterly sour dish, although I didn't mind the avionce. It seemed like I was sitting in the hidden jewel of restaurants, the dim colored lights setting the perfect mood for a mellow date. The dish, on the other hand, tasted as if I was eating a lemon. I tried to steer away from the taste and focus on the quality and texture. They passed the quality test, but the texture was a bit on the soggy side. In conclusion, I'm not a huge fan of the fries served here. 4 out of 10.
