The Grinch, produced by Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, tells the story of a scary old Grinch, who turns funny and lighthearted. I literally could not stop laughing the whole time. In fact, I loved this movie so much that I decided to go back to the theater to watch it again. The Grinch is a classic Christmas movie for every age! In this heartwarming film, you will see Max, The Grinch, Cindy Lou and many other characters in Whoville. The Grinch and his loyal dog, Max, live inside a black, dark, cold, charcoal cave on Mount Crumpet. As we all may know, The Grinch really hates his Christmas and how his neighbors in Whoville celebrate the holidays with a bang. When the Whos decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgusted Grinch realizes there is only one way to gain peace and quiet.
In this movie, we learned a little more of The Grinch’s backstory and why he really hates Christmas. The Grinch used to live in an orphanage when he was little and never saw a present in his life. There was no tree, no holiday decor, or even a Santa for The Grinch to see. His heart was three times to small, cracked, and brittle. He hated the idea of Christmas because for all those lonely years, he never experienced a family and the cuddly feeling Christmas has to offer. One day, the Grinch decides to dress up as Santa Clause and makes up a plan to steal the Whoville’s Christmas. Finally, the Grinch thinks he will have his way of no more Christmas ever again. However, his ideal way of Christmas is threatened thanks to a character from Whoville. The Grinch has a slight twist on the original cartoon movie, for example when the Grinch tries to find a reindeer instead of going straight to his dog Max, he finds a huge reindeer to drive his slay for the night, but then lets the reindeer go back to his family. But this movie isn't only the Grinch's story. It's also Cindy Lou's, as she attempts to convince Santa to grant her selfless wish.
This movie has a positive message about appreciating life’s little details and how important family and friendships are, especially at this giving time of year. It is a great one to see with your whole family and is perfect to get you in the jolly Christmas spirit. You can experience this movie in theaters near you.
