Post Malone album review
Post Malone just recently released his newest album on September 6th named Hollywood’s Bleeding. Post Malone released the smash hit album Beerbongs & Bentleys in April of 2018, which fans couldn’t get enough of. In my opinion, Beerbongs & Bentleys was a great example of the true talents Malone can bring to the table. After being nominated for a Grammy this past year, Hollywood’s Bleeding was eagerly anticipated by his fans across the globe. Malone releases music that comes directly from his feelings and deep emotions. Kanye West was a featured writer on the album. Other musicians such as, Ozzy Osborne, Travis Scott and Young Thug are featured. In the albums Editor Notes on Apple Music, Malone says “I’m not trying to make anything massive, I’m not trying to make hit records.” His lyrics are fueled by his passion and drive.
Ever since his album release a couple weeks ago, 13 out of 17 of his songs appear on Apple Musics’ Top 50 Charts. “Enemies (feat. DaBaby”) is currently #4. This song explains the struggle Malone has of being in the music industry and battling “fake” friends who can easily turn into enemies. As he states in the song “Enemies”, “I used to have friends, now I got enemies, enemies, yeah it’s so sad.” Listening more and more, his words make you feel like you were living vicariously through him. Malone easily paints a picture of bringing his music to life. “Saint-Tropez” and “Circles” are also great songs featured on the album.
Overall, I think this is one of the best albums to be released so far in 2019. You can truly feel emotion, pain, and happiness when listening. Malone did a great job of turning his thoughts into words. I would recommend anyone of any age to listen. No matter if you are 16 or 45, everyone can relate to at least one of his songs.
