The Legacy of Juice Wrld

February 9, 2020

I tend to overthink a lot, like any other anxious teenager. The thoughts of college, college applications, SATs, what I’m going to do with the rest of my life, and every now and then how I’ll be remembered by the world. There are so many things in life that I am unsure of, but I know for certain that I want to make a mind-blowing impact on this world.

As a teenager/young person myself, hearing about people my age or maybe slightly older than me dying really takes a toll on me. It makes me realize how quick it is for someone to lose their life, and never get a do-over. Seeing so many young celebrities making an actual impact on this world inspires me to do better, and also be better, but one person in particular inspired me to follow my dreams. My true dreams, the ones that come from my heart and my childhood.

On December 28 of 2019, I was shocked to see "RIP" with a picture of Juice wlrd on almost everyone’s social media. I genuinely thought to myself ‘This must be a joke’, but there was also a tiny voice in the back of my head telling me that it was 100 percent true. There are so many young celebrities lives being cut short because of drug addiction, mental illness, neurological disorder, as well as gun violence. It’s heart-wrenching to hear about. After Juice Wlrd passed I decided to listen to his music and just see who he was as a person (portrayed by only social media of course and interviews). From what I discovered, he had an undeniable passion for music. In an interview conducted by Billboard, he said “Music is the best way that I can communicate with other people”

Music is also a way that I communicate my feelings when I don't have the strength to express them verbally. Juice Wrld was one of the artists that expressed similar emotions that I felt during a rough time, and created music with it. It’s a gift to be able to take all of your pain and suffering and create art with it. Juice Wrld is an inspiring, and relatable artist. His music will live on and continue to impact thousands of lives.

In such a short period of time the late singer, Juice wlrd, has impacted so many people from across the globe with only his music. He made a positive change in people’s lives; and we need to make sure the legacy of him as an artist who communicated and shared so much of his heart with the world through his music continues to live on.
